Arcanum baseball team beats Tri-Village 8-1

ARCANUM – Arcanum beat Tri-Village 8-1 in a Cross County Conference baseball game on Tuesday.

Arcanum took a 3-0 lead in the bottom half of the first inning. Both teams scored one run in the fourth inning then the Trojans added four more runs in the sixth inning.

Arcanum had nine hits and one error while Tri-Village had six hits and two errors.

Arcanum’s Brandon Kinney went 2-for-2, walked once, stole three bases and scored three runs. Ben Sease was 2-for-3 with a stolen base, a run and two RBI. Caleb Shilt was 2-for-4 with a stolen base, a run and two RBI. Layne Byrne went 1-for-2 with two walks, three stolen bases and two runs.

Maverick Hildebrand was 1-for-3 with a RBI for Arcanum. Cole Spitler was 1-for-3 and walked once. Evan Atchley drove in a run and scored a run. Pierce Lindemuth drove in a run. Cambell Gostomsky walked twice and was hit by a pitch.

Tri-Village’s Jared Buckley was 3-for-3 with a triple. Mason Sullenbarger went 2-for-3. Derek Eyer was 1-for-2 with a walk. Jonny Wilson walked and scored a run. Luke Wheeler drove in a run.

Atchley was the winning pitcher for Arcanum as he pitched the complete game, allowing one earned run on six hits, two walks and three strikeouts.

Wilson was the losing pitcher for Arcanum, giving up five earned runs and one unearned run on six hits, six walks, one hit batter and six strikeouts. Gage Hileman pitched one inning and gave up two unearned runs on three hits and one walk.
