Tri-Village baseball team defeats Dayton Christian

NEW MADISON – The Tri-Village baseball team beat Dayton Christian 7-6 on Friday in New Madison.

Dayton Christian scored two runs in the first inning then Tri-Village scored one in the bottom half of the frame to make it 2-1. Dayton Christian increased its lead to 5-1 in the top half of the second inning, but Tri-Village scored five runs in the bottom of the second to go up 6-5. Dayton Christian tied the game in the third inning, but Tri-Village scored one more run in the fourth to win 7-6.

Tri-Village had eight hits and two errors. Dayton Christian had eight hits and no errors.

Trey Frech pitched the complete game for Tri-Village for his first career win, improving to 1-0 on the season. He allowed five earned runs and one unearned run on eight hits, five walks and two strikeouts.

Offensively Jonny Wilson went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a RBI. Camren Munchel was 2-for-3 and scored a run. Jackson Plush was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI.

The win broke a three-game losing streak for the Patriots, who improved to 11-5. Dayton Christian fell to 10-5.
