NEW MADISON – Tri-Village has hired Mount Healthy High School defensive coordinator Robert Burk as its new varsity football coach.

Burk also has served as the defensive coordinator at Northwest High School and coached at Hamilton High School in various assistant roles.

This past season Mount Healthy went 8-3 overall and qualified for the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division III playoffs. The Fighting Owls gave up an average of 18.1 points per game, holding their opponents to 14 or few points in each of their first eight games.

Burk replaces Jason Schondelmeyer, who was named the first head coach in Tri-Village football history in February 2015. Schondelmeyer guided the Patriots during a junior varsity season in 2015 and a varsity season in 2016, finishing 3-7 this past year. He left this year to become the new head coach at Arcanum.

Burk will lead Tri-Village into its first season of Cross County Conference football this upcoming fall. Tri-Village will join the league in football along with Bradford and Fort Loramie, forming a 12-team conference for the sport.
