6 Darke County baseball teams earn home playoff games in OHSAA tournament

DARKE COUNTY – Six of Darke County’s eight varsity baseball teams earned home games in the first round of the Ohio High School Athletic Association playoffs.

Greenville (9-12) earned the 14th seed in the Division I Dayton sectional and will play host to 17th seeded Springfield (6-12) at 5 p.m. May 9 in the first round of the tournament.

Versailles (14-6) earned the third seed in the Division III Dayton sectional and received a first-round bye. The Tigers will play host to the winner of the sixth seeded Northwestern (10-11) vs. fifth seeded West Liberty-Salem (12-7) game at 5 p.m. May 10.

Arcanum (8-13) earned the 12th seed in the Division III Dayton sectional and will play at 11th seeded Bethel (8-4) at 5 p.m. May 8.

Franklin Monroe (7-11) earned the seventh seed in the Division IV Dayton sectional and will play host to 10th seeded Troy Christian (7-8) at 5 p.m. May 8.

Bradford (9-11) earned the fifth seed in the Division IV Dayton sectional and received a first-round bye. The Railroaders will play host to the winner of the Franklin Monroe-Troy Christian game at 5 p.m. May 10.

Mississinawa Valley (6-16) earned the eighth seed in the Division IV Dayton sectional and will play host to 12th seeded Catholic Central (3-10) at 5 p.m. May 8.

Tri-Village (14-5) earned the fourth seed in the Division IV Dayton sectional and received a first-round bye. The Patriots will play host to the winner of the Catholic Central-Mississinawa Valley game at 5 pm. May 10.

Ansonia (1-17) earned the 15th seed in the Division IV Dayton sectional and will play at 13th seeded Emmanuel Christian (4-12) at 5 p.m. May 8.
