UNION CITY – Mississinawa Valley lost 11-5 to Bethel in a Cross County Conference softball game on Wednesday.
Bethel took an 8-0 lead with three runs in the first inning and five in the second. After Mississinawa Valley scored two runs in the bottom of the second, Bethel extended its lead to 11-2 with two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth. Mississinawa Valley then scored one run in the sixth and two in the seventh.
Mississinawa Valley had six hits while Bethel had 16.
Kinsie Blocher was 2-for-3 with a walk, two stolen bases and a run. Paxton Scholl was 1-for-4 with a triple, a walk, three stolen bases, two RBI and a run.
Amanda Jeffers was 1-for-2, was hit by two pitches, scored a run and drove in a run. Bailey Johnson went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk. Jolie Elson was 1-for-4 with a stolen base, a RBI and a run. Lindsay Johns walked three times, stole two bases and scored a run.
Scholl pitched four innings and allowed 10 runs on 11 hits, three walks and three strikeouts. Taydem Elson pitched three innings, allowing one run on five hits, two walks and two strikeouts.
