Bradford baseball team loses to Troy Christian

BRADFORD – The Bradford baseball team lost its first Ohio High School Athletic Association tournament game 7-1 to Troy Christian on Wednesday.

Troy Christian scored four runs in the first inning, one in the third and two in the fourth while holding Bradford to a single run in the sixth inning.

Bradford had three hits and three errors, and Troy Christian had 11 hits and no errors.

Parker Smith went 1-for-3, stole a base and scored a run. Chase Gambill was 1-for-2 and stole a base. Mason Justice was 1-for-3. Alex Swabb walked once and drove in a run.

Smith was the losing pitcher as he went 5 1/3 innings, allowing five earned runs and two unearned runs on 10 hits, two walks, two hit batters and nine strikeouts. Fischer Spencer pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one.
