ROSSBURG – Torrential rain during a Friday afternoon thunderstorm have flooded portions of the track surface and infield at Eldora Speedway forcing cancellation of Saturday night’s $8 Family Fireworks Night presented by Aaron’s.

With saturated grounds from three straight days of severe weather and more storms forecast for Saturday, Eldora officials were resigned to call the event when the rising Wabash River flooded over half of the infield pit area.

Eldora Speedway staff will work with the fireworks technicians and event sponsor Aaron’s on re-scheduling the spectacular fireworks show planned for Saturday night.

The next event on Eldora’s calendar is a special Sunday night affair scheduled for May 28. The Johnny Appleseed Classic by Miller Lite will feature the Sunoco American Late Model Series, DIRTcar UMP Modifieds and Eldora Stock Cars.
