Eldora Speedway hosts the Johnny Appleseed Classic

ROSSBURG – Eldora Speedway hosted the Johnny Appleseed Classic even during the rain on Sunday.

First ran the Sunoco American Late Models with two heats then the 25-lap A-feature, the Eldora Stock Cars ran three heats and the 15-lap A-feature, and finally the Dirtcar UMP Modified ran three heats and a 20-lap A-feature.

In heat one for the Sunoco American Late Models taking the first four spots was the 2 of Nick Hoffman followed by the 1CJ of Rusty Schlenk, the 7R of Kent Robinson and the 5N of Dustin Nobbe.

The 88 of Andrew Reaume followed by the 1N of Casey Noonan, the 20C of Jacob Hawkins and the 7B of Jeff Babcock took the top four spots in heat two.

The A Feature saw the 1N of Casey Noonan victorious followed by the 1CJ of Rusty Schlenk, third was the 7R of Kent Robinson, and fourth was the 20C of Jacob Hawkins. Noonan had just held off Schlenk for a very close finish.

For the Eldora Stock Cars taking heat one was the 91 of Ed Hounshell, in second was the 7 of Jordan Conover, third went to the 17C of Jeremy Creech and fourth was the 95 of Gary Rahe Jr.

The 01 of Earnie Woodard followed by the 55 of Brandon Archey, the J2 of Rob Trent and the 99 of Andy King took the top four spots for heat two.

In heat three the 99J of Donnie Jeschke took first, second went to the 23 of Casey Barr, third was the 463 of Daniel Sanchez and fourth was the 27 of Frank Paladino.

The A-Feature saw the 95 of Gary Rahe Jr. take the black and white checkered followed in second by the 7 of Jordan Conover, in third was the 55 of Brandon Archey and fourth went to the 01 of Earnie Woodard. This was Rahe’s first win at Eldora.

The 09D of Joel Dick took first in heat one of the Dirtcar UMPs followed by the 52 of Weasel Phlipot, third went to the 20M of Josh Morton and fourth was the 1 of Scott Williams.

Taking the top four spots in heat two was the 5 of Jonathan Taylo, followed in second by the 95J of Jerry Bowersock, the 16 of Jeff Koz in third and fourth was the 7 of Evan Taylor.

Heat three saw the 13H of Jacob Hawkins take the win, in second was the 11 of Josh Rice, third was the 22T of Tony Anderson and fourth was the 11H of Mike Hohlbein.

Taking first in the A feature was the 13H of Jacob Hawkins followed by the 16 of Jeff Koz, third was the 5 of Jonathan Taylor and fourth was the 95J of Jerry Bowersock. This was Hawkins’ second win of the season.
