Versailles girls ranked No. 18

COLUMBUS – The Versailles girls cross country team is ranked 18th in the state in the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches’ pre-season state rankings.

The Versailles girls received three points in the pre-season poll to be tied with Crestwood and South Range for 18th place in the Division II state rankings.

The Lady Tigers trail Lexington, Springfield Shawnee, St. Vincent-St. Mary, Woodridge, Archbishop Alter, Chagrin Falls, Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, Bay, Morgan, Tippecanoe, Perkins, Oakwood, Carrollton, Athens, Eaton, Crestwood and South Range in the Division II preseason rankings. Two of the teams ranked ahead of Versailles changed divisions after voting took place due to the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s recalculating of divisions earlier this month.

The Versailles girls were the lone Darke County team included in the pre-season rankings. Other teams with local connections in the poll include the Centerville girls from the Greater Western Ohio Conference being ranked No. 1 in Division I, the Beavercreek girls from the GWOC being ranked No. 5 in Division I, the Troy girls from the GWOC being ranked No. 7 in Division I, the Miamisburg girls from the GWOC being ranked No. 13 in Division I, the Minster boys from the Midwest Athletic Conference being ranked No. 10 in Division III, the St. Henry boys from the MAC being ranked No. 13 in Division III, the New Bremen boys from the MAC being ranked No. 23 in Division III, the Minster girls from the MAC being ranked No. 1 in Division III, the St. Henry girls from the MAC being ranked No. 10 in Division III, and the Twin Valley South girls from the Cross County Conference being ranked No. 23 in Division III.
