Greenville boys golf team places 16th at Celina Invitational

CELINA – The Greenville boys golf team finished 16th with a 413 team score in the Celina Invitational on Friday at the Celina Lynx.

Kalida won the 18-team tournament with a score of 330. St. Henry finished second with a 331, Wapakoneta finished third with a 332, Lima Bath was fourth with a 334, and Anna finished fifth with a 342.

Findlay was sixth with a 346, Liberty placed seventh with a 349, Lima Shawnee was eighth with a 352, Defiance finished ninth with a 354, and Kenton finished 10th with a 369.

St. Marys finished 11th with a 373, Coldwater was 12th with a 378, Ottawa-Glandorf finished 13th with a 387, and Elida and Van Wert tied for 14th with 391 team scores.

Greenville finished 16th with a 413, Marion Local was 17th with a 432, and St. Henry’s second squad finished 18th with a 437. Celina didn’t have enough golfers to record a team score.

Andrew Kiryluk and Connor Null led Greenville as they both shot a 97 for the 18-hole round. Also for the Green Wave, Matt Hounshell shot a 106, Evan Saylor shot a 113, and Bryan Day shot a 119.

Kalida’s Christian Nartker won the individual championship with a 2-over-par 74. Bath’s Isaiah Bolon finished second with a 75, Findlay’s Jordan Goeb finished third with a 76, St. Henry’s Jack Romer finished fourth with a 76, and Van Wert’s Jared Hernandez finished fifth with a 79.
