Arcanum boys golf team places 2nd in CCC tournament

VERSAILLES – The Arcanum boys golf team finished as the runner-up during the Cross County Conference’s preview tournament on Monday at Stillwater Valley Golf Club.

Arcanum shot a 258 to finish one stroke behind Miami East, who won the conference tournament with a 257 team score.

Newton placed third with a 260, Franklin Monroe finished fourth with a 267,Twin Valley South was fifth with a 278, Tri-Village finished sixth with a 295, Covington placed seventh with a 318, Bethel finished eighth with a 326, Mississinawa Valley was ninth with a 361, National Trail was 10th with a 367, and Ansonia finished 11th with a 374. Bradford and Tri-County North didn’t have enough golfers to record team scores.

During the CCC preview, each school was able to have six golfers who competed as pairs.

Twin Valley South’s Nate Osborn and Willie Bowman won the championship with a 3-under-par 69. Arcanum’s Carter Gray and Dylan Lumpkin finished second with a 74.

Franklin Monroe’s Jeremy Bridenbaugh and Noah Koffer finished third with a 75. Newton’s Chet Jamison and Nate Zielinski finished fourth with a 76. Miami East’s Zac Johnson and Jack Runner finished fifth with a 78.

Arcanum was led by the round of 74 from Gray and Lumpkin. Also for the Trojans, the duo of Cade Brubaker and Cameron Reed shot a 91 while Trevor Bailey and Cameron Warner shot a 93.

Bridenbaugh and Koffer led Franklin Monroe with their round of 75. Also for the Jets, the pair of Bryce Filbrun and Jacob Aslinger shot an 88 while Dalton Goubeaux and Austin Wolf shot a 104.

Gage Hileman and Holsapple led Tri-Village with an 87. Also for the Patriots, Nelson and Sims shot a 104 while Fech and Hill also shot a 104.

Kyler Guillozet and Miller led Mississinawa Valley with a round of 98. Also for the Blackhawks, Mason Hiestand and Mason Hummel shot a 116 while Matt Slyder and Newbauer shot a 147.

Conner Lee and Johnnie Bozarth led Ansonia with a round of 122. Also for the Tigers, Brandan Heck and Tyler Sink shot a 124 while Trevor Martin and Dalton Drees shot a 128.

Hayden Dickerson and Eric Sanders led Bradford with a round of 94. Also for the Railroaders, Stump and Wolf shot a 172. Bradford’s Brayden Sanders combined with Tri-County North’s Landen Owens to shoot a 134.
