CELINA – The Versailles girls golf team won its Midwest Athletic Conference season opener on Thursday, defeating Fort Recovery 197-250 at the Mercer County Elks Golf Club.
Versailles’ Lauren Durham led all golfers with a nine-hole round of 46. Also for the Lady Tigers, Morgan Barlage shot a 50, Maddie Durham shot a 50, Anna Grogg shot a 51, Jorja Pothast shot a 53, and Taylor Martin shot a 60.
Kristen Keller led Fort Recovery with a 54, Lydia Schmitz shot a 61, Eryn Litmer shot a 65, Becca Wood shot a 70, Allie Vaughn shot a 72, and Reagen Greishop shot an 81.
Versailles improved to 1-0 overall and 1-0 in the MAC with the win.
