Greenville girls tennis team defeats Eaton for 6th consecutive win

GREENVILLE – Greenville increased its win streak to six matches as the Lady Wave swept the Eaton girls tennis team 5-0 on Wednesday.

In the first singles match Greenville’s Natalie Milligan beat Sophia Murphy 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. In second singles the Lady Wave’s Anna Manges beat Tess Murphy 6-2, 6-1. In the third singles match the Wave’s Emily Marchal improved to 8-0 with a 6-3, 6-0 win against Quinlynn Sittloh.

In first doubles Greenville’s Abby Swensen and Addie Haupt beat Madison McKinley and Addie Bell 6-1, 7-5. In the second doubles match the Lady Wave’s Alison Baughman and Casey Malott beat Katelyn Niehaus and Brianna Ward 6-1, 6-2.

In junior varsity action, Greenville’s Marabelle Lance won 8-0, Amber Hutt won 8-6, Chloie Graves won 8-3. In junior varsity doubles, Felicity Lance and Faith Mansfield won 8-1, Katie Baughman and Amanda Chui won 8-3, and Valerie Myers and Marabelle Lance won 8-0.

Greenville’s varsity girls also recorded a 5-0 win against Xenia on Tuesday.

Milligan swept Jaedan Thomas 6-0, 6-0 in first singles. Manges beat Arynne Hoosier 6-1, 6-0 in the second singles match. In third singles Marchal swept Caitlyn Pence 6-0, 6-0.

In first doubles Haupt and Swensen swept Grace McClelland and Alexis McClelland 6-0, 6-0. Malott and Alison Baughman swept Anna Carlson and Baylee Mueller 6-0, 6-0 in second doubles.

Greenville, which is now 7-1 on the season, will return to action on Tuesday at Fairborn.
