GREENVILLE – Bradford’s Karmen Knepp and Versailles’ Joe Spitzer won individual championships at the Treaty City Invitational cross country meet on Saturday morning in Greenville.
Knepp won the small school girls race in 19:20, besting Marion Local’s Kelsey Broering by 12 seconds for first place. Joe Spitzer won the large school boys race in 15:46, defeating Northmont’s Gage Beireis by 20 seconds for first place.
The top Darke County team was the Versailles girls, who finished as the runner up in the small school division to South Adams. Megan Rismiller led Versailles by finishing sixth overall in 20:01, Kenia McEldowney finished 13th in 20:32, Kara Spitzer finished 30th in 21:21, Emma Peters finished 31st in 21:26, Kennedy McEldowney finished 40th in 21:59, Liz Watren finished 41st in 21:59, and Dana Rose finished 46th in 22:01.
Greenville’s girls finished sixth in the small school division. Isabelle Rammel finished 23rd in 20:54, Grace Coakley finished 25th in 21:01, Hayley Maher finished 48th in 22:07, Chloe Sowry finished 63rd in 22:33, Mikayla Miller finished 64th in 22:34, Kelsie Ruble finished 82nd in 23:01, and Rachel Unger finished 97th in 23:37.
Bradford’s girls finished 10th in the small school division. Following Knepp, Skipp Miller finished fifth overall in 19:53, Olivia Daugherty finished 92nd in 23:25, Mercedes Smith finished 94th in 23:29, and Chelsea Gill finished 128th in 24:39.
The Ansonia girls finished 15th in the small school division. Katie Werts finished 98th in 23:38, Mariah Troutwine finished 110th in 24:02, Lydia Snyder finished 117th in 24:14, Olivia Wright finished 119th in 24:21, Breena Hall finished 136th in 25:15, Kassie Weyant finished 148th in 25:48, and Amber Bergman finished 162nd in 26:15.
Mississinawa Valley’s girls didn’t have enough runners to record a team score. The Lady Hawks’ Gabby Rammel finished 177th in 27:27, Maria Ojeda finished 187th in 28:11, Casey Carrico finished 213th in 31:44, and Piper Phillips finished 216th in 32:30.
In the boys competition the top Darke County team was Greenville, who finished sixth in the large school boys race. Jacob Subler finished 30th in 17:52, Andrew Kocher finished 32nd in 17:53, Riley Emerick finished 38th in 18:11, Matt Karns finished 50th in 18:23, Alex Subler finished 58th in 18:31, Seth Unger finished 74th in 18:49, and Gabriel Stevens finished 112th in 19:34.
The Versailles boys finished seventh in the large school division. Following Joe Spitzer, Brooks Blakeley finished 44th in 18:16, Xavier Grillot finished 76th in 18:55, Matt Cromwell finished 84th in 19:02, Ryan Subler finished 90th in 19:10, Adam Gehret finished 93rd in 19:14, and Noah Barga finished 101st in 19:23.
Bradford finished 14th in the small school boys race. Johnny Fike finished 20th in 17:29, Jay Roberts finished 36th in 17:57, Jackson Moore finished 100th in 20:01, Kurt Hoover finished 114th in 20:23, and Shane Bryan finished 172nd in 22:18.
Ansonia’s boys finished 21st in the small school race. Brayden Swabb finished 77th in 19:04, Logan Warner finished 115th in 20:25, Garrett Kaiser finished 136th in 21:01, Michael Hall finished 170th in 22:12, Daniel Shaner finished 184th in 22:57, Kyle Thornhill finished 191st in 22:26, and Jacob Vietor finished 208th in 25:43.
Mississinawa Valley finished 22nd in the small school boys race. Dalton Marker finished 101st in 20:01, Zachary Longfellow finished 139th in 21:03, Brenden King finished 180th in 22:40, Colby Manning finished 182nd in 22:47, Michael Rammel finished 190th in 23:21, and Shawn Wogoman finished 198th in 24:13.
Liberty Center won the small school boys division, Tippecanoe won the large school boys division, and Tippecanoe won the large school girls division.
Tippecanoe’s Katie Taylor won the large school girls division in 19:03, and Liberty Center’s Cameron Stark won the small school boys race in 16:17.
