Greenville girls tennis team defeats Troy

TROY – The Greenville girls tennis team improved to 4-0 in the Greater Western Ohio Conference with a 4-1 win on Thursday at Troy.

In first singles Greenville’s Anna Manges beat Katie Sherrick 6-4, 6-0. In the second singles match the Lady Wave’s Emily Marchal beat Emma Kazmaier 6-4, 6-2. In third singles the Wave’s Marabelle Lance lost 6-2, 6-4 to Mackenzie Nosker.

In the first doubles match Greenville’s Abby Swensen and Addie Haupt beat Jackie Fulker and Hailey Taylor 6-1, 7-6. In second doubles the Lady Wave’s Alison Baughman and Casey Malott beat Cady Rhea and Kit Wolke 6-3, 7-6.

Greenville improved to 10-1 overall and 4-0 in the GWOC while Troy fell to 7-3 overall and 5-1 in the GWOC.

Greenville will play at Springfield on Monday.
