Franklin Monroe volleyball team sets wins record with victory at Bradford

BRADFORD – The Franklin Monroe volleyball team broke its program record for wins in a season on Thursday with a 25-13, 25-13, 25-9 Cross County Conference victory at Bradford.

Makenzie Kreitzer led Franklin Monroe with 11 kills, Corina Conley had seven, and Chloe Peters had five. Conley had four blocks while Kreitzer and Peters both had one.

Belle Cable led the Lady Jets with 13 digs, and Kreitzer added 10. Kennedy Morris had 15 assists, and Brigette Filbrun had 10. Cassidy Spatz had two aces while Filbrun and Morris both had one.

Hannah Fout and Bailey Wysong led Bradford with two points apiece. Fout also had seven digs and 12 assists while Wysong had two kills and five digs. Ivee Brubaker had one point, one kill and one block. Brooke Fair and Aspen Weldy had three digs each.

Bradford finished the regular season with a 2-20 overall record and 1-10 CCC record. The Railroaders will play in the Ohio High School Athletic Association tournament against either Russia or Legacy Christian at 1 p.m. Oct. 21 at Troy.

Franklin Monroe finished the regular season with a 20-2 record and 11-1 conference record. The 20 wins are a program record. The Jets will begin OHSAA tournament play against Lehman Catholic at 6 p.m. Oct. 18 at Arcanum.

Thursday was senior night for Bradford. The Railroaders honored seniors Ivee Brubaker, Brooke Fair, Hannah Fout, Aspen Weldy and Bailey Wysong.
