COLDWATER – Versailles’ Joe Spitzer won his third consecutive Midwest Athletic Conference cross country championship on Saturday in Coldwater.
Spitzer won the high school boys race, which included 134 runners, with a time of 15:54.42. The Versailles senior beat St. Henry’s Devin Huelskamp by more than 56 seconds for the conference championship.
As a team the Versailles boys finished third in the conference standings behind champion Minster and runner-up St. Henry. Parkway finished fourth, New Bremen finished fifth, Coldwater finished sixth, Marion Local finished seventh, Fort Recovery finished eighth, and New Knoxville finished ninth.

Marion Local finished fifth, Fort Recovery finished sixth, New Bremen finished seventh, Delphos St. John’s finished eighth, Parkway finished ninth, and New Knoxville finished 10th.
Kenia McEldowney led the Versailles girls by finishing 15th overall in 20:24.87.
