Franklin Monroe, Versailles volleyball team ranked in season’s final OHSVCA poll

COLUMBUS – Versailles is ranked ninth in Division III and Franklin Monroe is ranked 16th in Division IV in the final Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association’s state poll of the 2017 season.

Versailles moved up one to spot to No. 9 in this week’s state poll, bypassing Utica and achieving a season-best ranking. The Lady Tigers remained ranked behind Coldwater, Tuscarawas Valley, Eastwood, Independence, Miami East, Fairbanks, Ottawa-Glandorf and Liberty-Benton.

Versailles was ranked in all six polls this season, ranging from ninth to 11th in the state.

Franklin Monroe moved up two spots to No. 16 in the state rankings, moving ahead of New Riegel and Delphos St. John’s and into a season-best ranking. The Lady Jets remained ranked behind New Bremen, St. Henry, Ottoville, Norwalk St. Paul, Fort Recovery, Buckeye Central, Leipsic, Southern Local, Marion Local, Carey, Dalton, Waterford, Jackson Center, Fort Loramie and Mathews.

Franklin Monroe was ranked in three of the six weekly state polls this season. The Jets were ranked 17th in the first poll of the season and 18th in the fifth poll.

A number of other teams with Darke County connections are ranked in this week’s poll. Centerville from the Greater Western Ohio Conference is ranked No. 18 in Division I, Coldwater from the Midwest Athletic Conference is ranked No. 1 in Division III, Miami East from the Cross County Conference is ranked No. 5 in Division III, New Bremen from the MAC is ranked No. 1 in Division IV, St. Henry from the MAC is ranked No. 2 in Division IV, Fort Recovery from the MAC is ranked No. 5 in Division IV, Marion Local from the MAC is ranked No. 9 in Division IV, and Delphos St. John’s from the MAC is ranked No. 17 in Division IV.
