Greenville’s Isabelle Rammel qualifies for OHSAA regional cross country meet

CEDARVILLE – Greenville cross country runner Isabelle Rammel qualified on Saturday for the Ohio High School Athletic Association regional meet.

Rammel finished 16th overall in the Division II district meet with a time of 20:22.83 on Saturday at Cedarville. With her finish, the Greenville freshman became one of 28 girls from the Division II district meet to qualify for regionals.

Greenville’s girls finished eighth out of 22 teams in the district competition, finishing just one spot out of regional qualification. Tippecanoe, Bellbrook, Oakwood, Springfield Shawnee, Alter, Bellefontaine and Carroll qualified for the regional meet as teams.

Following Rammel, the Lady Wave senior Grace Coakley finished 33rd overall in 21:18.52, senior Hayley Maher finished 46th in 21:58.44, sophomore Mikayla Miller finished 69th in 22:46.18, sophomore Chloe Sowry finished 78th in 23:00.97, junior Kelsie Ruble finished 94th in 23:51.69, and junior Lauren Dull finished 113th in 24:54.36.

Alter senior Perri Bockrath won the Division II girls race, which included 156 runners, in a time of 18:36.51. Carroll senior Paige Wright finished 28th with a time of 21:18.52 to set the cutoff for regional qualification.

Greenville’s boys finished 18th out of 27 teams in the Division I regional meet at Cedarville. Centerville, Carroll, Springboro, Lebanon, Fairmont, Beavercreek, Miamisburg, Vandalia-Butler and Northmont qualified for regionals as teams.

Sophomore Matt Karns led the Greenville boys by finishing 83rd overall in 18:18.06, senior Jacob Subler finished 84th in 18:19.02, senior Andrew Kocher finished 85th in 18:21.45, freshman Riley Emerick finished 102nd in 18:46.49, freshman Alex Subler finished 103rd in 18:47.16, freshman Jacob Watson finished 111th in 19:04.66, and freshman Joey Thomas finished 118th in 19:17.44.

Middletown junior Conant Smith won the Division I boys race, which included 180 runners, with a time of 15:18.72. Troy senior Andy Smith finished 36th with a time of 17:11.33 to set the cutoff time for regional qualification.

Rammel now will run in the regional cross country meet on Saturday at Troy. The Division II girls race is scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m.
