2 MAC football teams, 1 GWOC team reach OHSAA state semifinals

COLUMBUS – One Greater Western Ohio Conference team and two Midwest Athletic Conference teams remain alive as the Ohio High School Athletic Association playoffs enter the state semifinals.

Trotwood-Madison from the GWOC won the Division III Region 12 championship on Friday by defeating Chaminade Julienne 44-14. The Rams will play Toledo Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Piqua Alexander Stadium for a spot in the Division III state championship game.

Marion Local beat its MAC rival Coldwater 33-0 in the Division VI Region 24 championship game on Friday. The Flyers, who haven’t given up a point in the playoffs, will play Liberty-Benton at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Wapakoneta Harmon Field for a spot in the Division VI state championship game.

Minster beat fellow MAC member Delphos St. John’s 20-0 in the Division VII Region 28 championship game on Friday. The Wildcats will play Norwalk St. Paul at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Lima Senior Spartan Stadium for a spot in the Division VII state championship game.
