Bradford girls basketball team defeats Ansonia by 1 point

BRADFORD – Bradford beat Ansonia by a single point on Thursday, defeating the Railroaders 41-40 in a Cross County Conference girls basketball game.

Ansonia held a 10-9 lead through one quarter then Bradford went into halftime up 18-15. The Railroaders led 28-26 through three quarters and hung on for the 1-point win.

Skipp Miller led Bradford with 16 points in Thursday’s game. Also for the Railroaders, Chelsea Gill scored 9 points, Bianca Keener scored 6 points, Emma Canan scored 5, and Hannah Fout scored 4.

Bradford improved to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the CCC with the win while Ansonia fell to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the CCC.

The Tigers will play host to St. Henry on Saturday while the Railroaders will travel to Covington on Monday.
