Franklin Monroe girls basketball team defeats Troy Christian

PITSBURG – The Franklin Monroe girls basketball team overcame a fourth-quarter deficit to defeat Troy Christian 44-39 on Saturday.

Franklin Monroe led 16-12 through one quarter then Troy Christian tied the score at 20-20 at halftime. The Eagles took a 26-25 lead in the third quarter, but the Jets outscored them 19-13 in the fourth quarter to win by 5.

Corina Conley led FM with a game-high 17 points. Also for the Lady Jets, Audrey Cable scored 11 points, Chloe Brumbaugh scored 8, Belle Cable scored 4, and Chloe Peters scored 4.

Kenley Blake led Troy Christian with 12 points. Also for the Eagles, Kathryn Lee scored 10, Sarah Earhart scored 8, Lauryn Lavy scored 6, and Morgan Taylor scored 3.

Franklin Monroe improved to 3-1 with the win while Troy Christian fell to 2-1.

FM will play host to Dixie tonight.
