Ansonia girls basketball team loses in overtime at Riverside

DE GRAFF – Riverside made a last-second shot in overtime to defeat the Ansonia girls basketball team 62-61 on Saturday.

It was a hard-fought game with many lead changes. The Tigers down 26-21 at the half and tied it at the end of the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime.

Katie Werts led Ansonia with 22 points and three steals. Trinity Henderson had 19 points. Kassy Wentworth had six points and five rebounds. Bailey Stammen added four points, four rebounds and four steals. Kierra Reichert put in five points and pulled down seven rebounds. Riley Marker had three points. Heidi Runkel rounded out the scoring with two points.

Ansonia will be away Tuesday evening when the Tigers travel to Indiana to play Union City.
