Franklin Monroe volleyball team goes 2-1 at Minster Invitational

MINSTER – The Franklin Monroe volleyball team went 2-1 and finished fifth at the Minster Invitational on Saturday.

Franklin Monroe started out the invitational with a 25-13, 25-7 loss to host Minster.

Morgan Booher led Franklin Monroe with four kills, and Shania Baker had one block. Makenzie Kreitzer led the Jets with 14 digs while Booher had six assists.

Franklin Monroe then beat Lincolnview19-25, 25-13, 25-15. Booher paced FM with 14 kills in the match, Carrie Baker had seven aces, and Shania Baker had two blocks. Kreitzer and Sydney Bowser both had 10 digs while Carrie Baker had 16 assists.

Franklin Monroe then beat Covington 25-12, 25-22. Booher led Franklin Monroe with 13 kills, Kreitzer had three aces, and Booher had a team-high two blocks. Kreitzer had 10 digs, and Carrie Baker had eight assists.

The eight-team tournament also included Botkins, Marion Pleasant, Russia and West Liberty-Salem. Minster beat Marion Pleasant in the championship match.
