Mississinawa Valley graduate Mallory Livingston earns KIAC weekly award

RICHMOND, Ind. – Indiana University East’s Mallory Livingston and Abbey Ketchem picked up weekly volleyball awards from the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference on Tuesday.

Livingston (Union City, Ohio/Mississinawa Valley High School), a senior outside hitter, is the KIAC Attacker of the Week for the second time this season.

Ketchem (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian High School), a freshman setter, is the KIAC Setter of the Week.

Livingston averaged 4.67 kills per set on a .415 hitting average to boost the Red Wolves to a 3-0 record this past week. Livingston has moved into the KIAC lead in kills per set.

Ketchem, who is playing setter regularly for the first time since her freshman year of high school, distributed 12.11 assists per set in IU East’s perfect week. For perspective: the current national leader in the category has a season average of 11.9 assists per set.

IU East hosts Ohio Christian University at 7 p.m. today at Seton Catholic High School.
