UNION CITY, Ohio — Steve Foreman Housing Furniture Shoppe has moved to its new location, 900 E. Elm St., where American Decorative Concrete used to be here.

Foreman sells new and used furniture, appliances and bedding at the business, which he started 16 years ago at another location.

“I opened this in October,” said Foreman, “I have also had businesses on Plum and Division streets and on the Coletown curve for awhile.”

A resident of Union City for 30 years, he also has rentals, and that’s where he had accumulated a lot of furniture.

“I decided to open a little store and see what happened,” the 67-year-old said.

He has to get everything inspected by the state, and Foreman gives a 30-day warranty on everything he sells.

He recently hired someone to come in and do repairs on appliances that need it.

“My appliances are mostly used,” Foreman said. “I currently have 20 stoves, 16 refrigerators, 10 washers, 20 dryers, freezers and some microwaves. Also, I probably have 25 sets of bedding.”

He said he does not get into antiques.

He has generally lived in the Union City area with some time spent in Farmland, Indiana, from where he graduated. He attended college in Florida, Wright State and Ohio State University.

His wife, Patricia, is a retired school teacher from Greenville. They have three children and four grandchildren.

Foreman’s shoppe is open 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. five days a week and is closed on weekends but will open, if needed, by appointment. Those wanting more information may call him at 937-968-6804 or 937-423-5397.”

Foreman said he sold cars for Ron Garrett Chevrolet for 10 years and sold insurance for different agencies for 20 years.
