UNION CITY, Ind./Ohio — State Line Heritage Days is all about family fun, and that’s what took place here. And, best of all, the weather cooperated for the most part.
There was something for everyone at the festival which kicked off Wednesday with a luncheon at the Elks Club.
There were plenty of contests, games and shows for people to watch and enjoy. In addition to the contests, there were the kiddie tractor pull, 5K walk/run, corn hole tournament and modified truck and tractor pull.
There were numerous food vendors who fed the crowds, not to mention the special meals available, including a breakfast, fish/chicken fry and ice cream social, at places nearby.
There was much activity also at the Historic Depot with art shows and awards.
Face-painting and dunking games were available.
The parade as held on Saturday, and lots of entertainment was presented throughout the festival. Entertainment included the Union City Community High School and Mississinawa Valley dance teams, Jan and Becky and the Dance Connection and Tee’s Crew with Zumba. Also performing downtown also were Linda Lee, Fingertip, Zach Day and Full Throttle, Debbie Lynn Bryson, Firehouse Band, Play It by Ear Barbershop Quartet with Winchester Music Man Quartet and The Bulldogs, who closed out the festival on Saturday night. The crowd, as usual, was probably one of the largest at State Line Heritage Days with festival-goers including people of all ages.
Additional entertainment was featured at Railroad Park, including St. Right band, Big Ginja Show and Green River Boys.
The cruise-in on Saturday night also brought in the crowds with many vehicles to check out, while Elvis impersonator Travis Morris of Racine, Wisconsin, sang The King’s favorites.
There were also tractor and truck shows and an antique tractor display in Railroad Park.
Jana Bruggeman chaired this year’s event, with the help of many committee members.
