Union City arrest 4 people for Meth

UNION CITY, Ind. – The Union City Special Entry Tactical Team (S.E.T.T) arrested four people Monday on charges related to Manufacturing Methamphetamine.

This has been the ninth time the Union City Indiana Police Department has served a search warrant for drugs inside the city limits this year.

On December 7, at approximately 10:45 p.m., the Union City Police Department S.E.T.T. served a search warrant for drugs at 922 N Howard St. Once inside the residence, officers identified six people, two were small children.

Officers located marijuana, methamphetamine, pseudoephedrine, foil with methamphetamine residue, syringes and several other items of paraphernalia as well as items used in the manufacturing of Methamphetamine during the search. The Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Unit also assisted during the search warrant.

Joseph Martin, 21, and Amber Helton, 18, of Union City, Indiana were arrested for visiting a common nuisance. Jesse Riley, 22, and Tiffany Nickel, 26, of Union City, Indiana were arrested for Maintaining a common nuisance and Manufacturing Methamphetamine.

The two children, ages five and two, were placed in the care and custody of the Department of Children Services. Additional charges have been submitted to the Randolph County Prosecutor’s Office and more arrests are expected.

“The Union City Police Department is dedicated to removing drugs from our city. Search warrants are only one aspect of combating drug use and addiction, but we have been successful this year. This has been the most drug related search warrants ever served in Union City,” said Captain Bill Bradbury. “Coupled with educating our youth, and assisting those in need of treatment, we are taking a proactive stance and fighting this issue from all directions.”
