Arcanum, Versailles win matches

DARKE COUNTY – Darke County girls golf teams competed against each other with Versailles defeating Arcanum on Monday and Arcanum defeating Franklin Monroe on Tuesday.

On Monday the Versailles girls golf team beat Arcanum 185-223 at Stillwater Valley Golf Club.

Versailles’ Maddie Covault was the match medalist as she shot a 43 for the nine-hole round. Also for the Lady Tigers, Lauren Durham shot a 45, Lauren Heitkamp shot a 48, Morgan Heitkamp shot a 49, Jorja Pothast shot a 49, and Taylor Martin shot a 64.

Haleigh Shaffer led Arcanum on Monday with a round of 54. Also for the Lady Trojans, Madi O’Daniel shot a 59, Lexi Unger shot a 59, Franchesca Hackworth shot a 61, Sydney McAllister shot a 69, and Brenna Loxley shot a 74.

The Arcanum girls golf team beat Franklin Monroe 220-289 on Tuesday at Turtle Creek Golf Course.

Arcanum’s Franchesca Hackworth led all golfers on the day with a nine-hole round of 52. Also for the Lady Trojans, Lexi Unger shot a 55, Brenna Loxley shot a 56, Haleigh Shaffer shot a 57, Madi O’Daniel shot a 62, and Sydney McAllister shot a 64.

Danielle Nestor led Franklin Monroe with a round of 67. Also for the Lady Jets, Lacy Henninger shot a 73, Grace Fee shot a 74, Chelsi Edger shot a 75, Shelby Rock shot a 78, and Cheyenne Booker shot an 84.
