COVINGTON – Two Arcanum cross country runners finished in the top 10 at Covington’s Buccaneer FOE 3998 Invitational on Saturday.
The Arcanum and Tri-Village cross country teams both competed in the meet at Covington. The Arcanum girls finished sixth out of eight teams, and the Tri-Village girls placed eighth. The Arcanum boys finished seventh out of 10 teams while the Tri-Village boys didn’t have enough runners to record a team score.
Isaac Stephens led the Arcanum boys as he finished third overall with a time of 17:47.3. Also for the Trojans, Wills Troutwine finished 31st in 19:58.2, Michael Scott finished 41st in 20:19.2, Jared Eberhard finished 50th in 21:04.0, Isaiah Hootman finished 54th in 21:38.5, Mitchel Wogomon finished 74th in 23:21.5, Victor Alderman finished 81st in 23:59.9, Joe Heiser finished 83rd in 24:03.6, Ethan Moores finished 85th in 24:52.9, Jimmy Barry finished 86th in 25:22.5, and Auris Alderman finished 95th in 28:14.8.
Kamron Berghoff led the Tri-Village boys as he finished 90th overall with a time of 26:51.3. Also for the Patriots, Cameron Armstrong finished 98th in 30:57.7.
Piqua’s Andy Mayse won the boys race, which included 100 runners, in 17:25.8.
Marcy Bradshaw led the Arcanum girls as she finished eighth overall in a time of 21:33.0. Also for the Lady Trojans, Mara Wetzel finished 30th in 24:27.5, Claire Meyer finished 38th in 25:08.5, Allissa Moore finished 54th in 26:35.8, Maggie Heiser finished 69th in 29:14.2, and Samantha McAllister finished 83rd in 37:19.0.
Samantha Holzapfel led the Tri-Village girls as she finished 32nd with a time of 24:29.7. Also for the Lady Patriots, Emma Printz finished 40th in 25:23.6, Shelby Holzapfel finished 50th in 26:13.5, Becky O’Connor finished 67th in 28:20.2, and Mackenzie Stucky finished 76th in 32:35.7.
Russia’s Lauren Heaton won the girls race, which included 83 runners, in a time of 20:22.6.
