GREENVILLE — A former Ansonia Local Schools coach pleaded not guilty in Darke County Common Pleas Court Wednesday to charges related to his relationship with a teen girl student at the school.
Eric R. Beisner, 26, now of Versailles, entered a not guilty plea via video feed from the jail to a charge of sexual battery as a school authority, a third-degree felony.
Beisner’s attorney, David A. Rohrer, said the alleged victim and her parents both opposed the prosecution of the case. He said the girl’s parents were aware of the relationship between their daughter and Beisner, and that they intend to be married. Rohrer said as soon as the relationship became known, Beisner quit his job at Ansonia School.
Judge Jonathan Hein ordered Beisner released on his own recognizance, under supervision of the adult probation department.
In other court business Wednesday, Ryan Reynolds pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.
He was sentenced to 60 months of probation supervision, 75 hours community service, fined $250 and ordered to complete any recommended treatment programs. His driver’s license also was suspended for six months.
Dustin Lee Reier pleaded not guilty to charges of breaking and entering, and possession of heroin. Hein ordered an own recognizance bond and drug treatment, but Reier has an unpaid bond in municipal court and cannot, therefore, be released until that is settled.
Rick L. Fleetwood is under a five-count indictment, comprising four counts of trafficking in heroin and one count of possession. The count include three fifth-degree, one fourth-degree and one second-degree felony.
A $200,000 bond was set on Aug. 24 in the case because of the large amount of heroin found on Fleetwood at the time, so Hein ordered the bond continued.
Jackie Randall K. Hamilton was given a $20,000 bond on a probation violation, and James Brandon Lennon was given a $15,000 bond for probation violation.
Doug Sleppy was given a $15,000 bond after pleading not guilty on a breaking and entering charge.
