NEW MADISON — The New Madison Public Library will host a stargazing event Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Cheri Adams, director of astronomy at Boonshoft Museum of Discovery, will be on hand to help attendees view the sun through a solar scope, observe the moon, hold real metorites and learn more about them, and learn about the Geminid meteor shower that will be visible in the area in December.

Guests are invited to bring their blankets and chairs to enjoy the bonfire and look at the stars.

The library is located at 142 S. Main St. in New Madison.
