VERSAILLES – On Nov. 21 the Versailles girls bowlers went to Coldwater to bowl against the Celina Bulldogs in a close match. They came home with a loss, 2,129-2,101.

“Coldwater is always a tough place to bowl because the lanes are oiled in a pattern that is difficult,” Versailles coach Tyler Phlipot said.

Makenzie Berning bowled a high game of 171. Also contributing to the Tigers overall score were high games from Hannah Niekamp (157) and Olivia Berning (167).

The following week the Tigers went to Woodcrest Lanes in Union City to bowl against the Minster Wildcats. They were able to come home with a win 2,182-1,729.

Morgan Heitkamp led the girls with a high game of 183. Also, commendable scores came from Makenzie Berning (180) and Hannah Niekamp (175).

“The lanes were dry which causes more ball movement,” Coach Phlipot said. “The exposure to tough lanes is beneficial for the girls. We are still not bowling to our potential but continue to work hard in practice.”
