Versailles bowling teams win WOHSBC matches

COLDWATER – The Versailles boys and girls bowling teams won West Ohio High School Bowling Conference matches on Saturday at Pla-Mor Lanes in Coldwater.

The Versailles boys beat Ansonia 2,322-1,546. Alex Groff led Versailles with games of 185 and 214, Brody Hyre had games of 154 and 153, Jacob Wenig had games of 168 and 139, Aydan Moran had games of 138 and 114, Quayd Pearsom rolled a 141, and Brandon Bradley rolled a 121.

The Versailles girls beat Russia 2,349-2,034. Olivia Bruening led Versailles with games of 174 and 196. Also for the Lady Tigers, Makenzie Berning had games of 193 and 154, Hannah Niekamp had games of 178 and 156, Maggie Hedrick rolled a 164, Brigette Holsapple rolled a 146, Morgan Hietkamp bowled a 132, and Morgan Barlage rolled a 105.

The Ansonia girls lost 1,646-1,602 to New Bremen.

The Mississinawa Valley boys lost 2,436-2,311 to Minster. Joe Teeter led Mississinawa Valley with games of 197 and 196. Also for the Blackhawks, Alex Longfellow had games of 154 and 160, Lucas Newbauer had games of 148 and 159, Dominic Rammel had games of 145 and 139, and Matt Slyder rolled a 120.

The Versailles boys bowling team is now 4-2 on the season, the Mississinawa Valley boys are 1-5, and the Ansonia boys are 0-6.

The Versailles girls bowling team is now 4-2 on the season, the Ansonia girls are 1-4, and the Mississinawa Valley girls are 0-5.

The WOHSBC teams will return to action on Saturday at Woodcrest Lanes in Union City. At 9:45 a.m. the girls will compete with Ansonia facing Mississinawa Valley and Versailles facing New Bremen. At 1 p.m. the boys will bowl with Ansonia facing Mississinawa Valley and Versailles facing Coldwater.
