ARCANUM – Arcanum inducted two new members into its athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday: Julie Miller-Wolfe and Paul Shahan.

Miller-Wolfe from the class of 1989 was a four-year letterman for volleyball, basketball and softball at Arcanum. During her induction speech she said her favorite moment during her high school career was winning the Cross County Conference volleyball championship with teammates Mindy Lockman and Melissa Gray.

“Capstone of a long dream I developed,” she said of being inducted into the Hall of Fame. “A closing to a lot of years of coaching and teamwork of my family.”

Shahan from the class of 1961 excelled in basketball, baseball, track and field and cross country. His class won 12 of 16 possible conference championships in the four sports during his high school years.

During his speech he said his favorite moment from high school was in the 1960 regional tournament at Hobart Arena in Troy. He scored 26 points, the best basketball game he ever played, in a loss to Salem Local.

“Being recognized by my peers, my accomplishments in athletic field and life after,” Shahan said of what it meant to him to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
