Greenville wrestling team loses to Valley View in OHSAA tournament

MIDDLETOWN – The Greenville wrestling team lost its opening round match of the Ohio High School Athletic Association dual team tournament 47-24 to Valley View on Wednesday at Middletown Madison High School.

Greenville freshman Jacob Mikesell pinned sophomore Ethan Mayo in 2:58 in the 120 pound class. Green Wave junior Jeremy Eshbaugh pinned freshman Kole Deel in 3:42 in the 145 pound match.

Greenville junior Christian Chalmers pinned senior Dane Ruby in 3:13 in the 160 pound class. Freshman Joseph Edwards won by forfeit in the 132 pound class.

Greenville freshman Jacob Goldsmith lost a 9-3 decision to senior Caleb House in the 138 pound class. Green Wave sophomore Austin Lacey lost a 14-2 major decision to freshman Joey Dima in the 106 pound class.

Greenville senior William Nibert lost a 20-10 major decision to sophomore Stone Day. Greenville freshman Dean Hurd was pinned by Valley View senior Cory Alspaugh in 5:15 in the 113 pound class.

Valley View won the 170, 195, 220 and 285 pound classes by forfeit.
