PITSBURG – Jeremy Bridenbaugh threw a no-hitter as the Franklin Monroe baseball team beat Twin Valley South 7-0 in a Cross County Conference game on Tuesday.

Bridenbaugh pitched the complete seven innings for the Jets and struck out three. He didn’t allow any hits while walking one and hitting a batter.

While Twin Valley South’s offense couldn’t get anything going, Franklin Monroe scored seven times to support Bridenbaugh.

The first run of the game came in the second inning. Zach Cable singled to right field, and Cade McGlinch then came up and laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Cable to second. Trevor Collins then hit a RBI double to right.

After the second inning, no one scored again until the fifth inning. In the fifth Bridenbaugh bunted to get on first. He then stole to second and was hit in by Landon Peters.

That same inning Peters, Cable and McGlinch all scored to make the score 5-0. McGlinch had a hit out to left field to score Peters and Cable, and Collins had a hit to right field to drive in McGlinch. Twin Valley South also committed two of its three errors during the fifth inning to help out the Jets in their four-run inning.

Franklin Monroe added the game’s final runs in the sixth inning. Logan Ressler started things off with a walk and Bryce Filbrun singled. After a passed ball advanced the runners, Hyre drove in a run with a fielder’s choice and Peters drove in another with a RBI single.
