Ansonia hosts Arcanum, Covington and Union City in a track meet

ANSONIA – The Ansonia girls finished as the meet runner up as the Tigers hosted the Ansonia Quad track and field meet on Tuesday.

Covington won the four-team girls meet with 111 points, and Ansonia finished second with 81.5 points. Arcanum finished third with 50.5 points, and Union City was fourth with 20 points.

Covington also won the boys meet with 87 points. Arcanum finished second with 80 points, Union City was third with 53, and Ansonia finished fourth with 46.

Arcanum’s Erica Zimmer won the girls shot put with a throw of 35 feet 10.25 inches. Arcanum’s Michaela McGaffic placed fourth with a throw of 29 feet 7.5 inches.

Arcanum had the top four finishers in the boys shot put as Mitchell Sink won with a throw of 41 feet 7 inches, Luke Holsapple finished second with a throw of 38 feet 5 inches, Daniel Dendler finished third with a throw of 38 feet 2.75 inches, and Isaiah Krause finished fourth with a throw of 34 feet 9.5 inches.

Arcanum’s Isaiah Krause won the boys discus throw with a throw of 106 feet 9 inches. Ansonia’s Heath Barga finished second with a throw of 105 feet 10 inches, Arcanum’s Luke Holsapple finished fourth with a throw of 101 feet 5 inches, and Arcanum’s Milo Simpson finished fifth with a throw of 79 feet.

Arcanum’s Erica Zimmer won the girls discus throw with a throw of 109 feet 10 inches. Arcanum’s Michaela McGaffic finished second with a throw of 99 feet, and Ansonia’s Jerica Thwaits finished fourth with a throw of 89 feet.

Ansonia’s Lydia Sink won the girls long jump with a jump of 16 feet. Ansonia’s Bailey Stammen placed third with a jump of 13 feet 11 inches, and Arcanum’s Trinity Layman finished fifth with a jump of 12 feet 8 inches.

Ansonia’s Ryan Willoughby finished fourth in the boys long jump with a jump of 17 feet 1.5 inches, and Arcanum’s Isaac Stephens finished fifth with a jump of 15 feet 11 inches.

Ansonia’s Austin Alexander won the boys high jump by clearing 6 feet, and Ansonia’s Trevor Alexander finished fourth by clearing 5 feet 10 inches.

Ansonia’s Lydia Sink won the girls high jump by clearing 5 feet, Ansonia’s Aliya Barga finished second by clearing 4 feet 10 inches, and Arcanum’s Kalista Harleman finished fourth by clearing 4 feet 6 inches.

Ansonia’s Stefani Garrett won the girls pole vault by clearing 8 feet 6 inches, Arcanum’s Marina Mahaffie and Ansonia’s Amber Aultman tied for second by clearing 7 feet 6.1 inches, Arcanum’s Cheyenne White finished fourth by clearing 7 feet 6 inches, and Arcanum’s Isabella Whiting finished fifth by clearing 7 feet.

Arcanum’s Luke Cetnar finished second in the boys pole vault by clearing 10 feet, Arcanum’s Dylan Burns finished third by clearing 9 feet 6 inches, and Ansonia’s Matthew Shook finished fourth by clearing 9 feet.

Arcanum’s team of Maggie Heiser, Claire Meyer, Marcy Bradshaw and Mara Wetzel finished second in the girls 4×800 meter relay with a time of 11:31.44 while Ansonia’s Megan Bergman, Katie Werts, Amber Bergman and Skyler Marker finished fourth in 12:18.93.

Arcanum’s Isaac Stephens, Daniel Coats and Justin Vanatta won the boys 4×800 meter relay in a time of 9:10.41. Ansonia’s Payton Setser, Logan Warner, Jacob Vietor and Brett Campbell finished fourth in 10:25.98.

Ansonia’s Bailey Stammen finished second in the girls 110 meter hurdles in 17.89, and Ansonia’s Katie Werts finished third in 19.25.

Arcanum’s Jimmy Barry finished second in the boys 110 meter hurdles in 33.42.

Ansonia’s Stefani Garrett won the girls 100 meter dash in 13.94, Ansonia’s Emily Bennett finished second in 15.30, and Arcanum’s Cheyenne White finished fourth in 15.56.

Ansonia’s Austin Alexander finished second in the boys 100 meter dash, and Ansonia’s Devyn Sink finished fifth in 12.39.

Ansonia’s quartet of Emily Bennett, Hope Stewart, Skyler Marker and Audrey Kelly finished second in the girls 4×200 meter relay in 2:08.16. Arcanum’s Logan Garbig, Haleigh Shaffer, Madison Goubeaux and Kayla Riegle finished third in 2:09.13.

Ansonia’s Austin Alexander, Devyn Sink, Michael Schaar and Max Wardrip finished second in the boys 4×200 meter relay in 1:42.81. Arcanum’s Marcus Plessinger, Luke Cetnar, Isaiah Krause and Dylan Burns finished third in 1:43.13.

Arcanum’s Tanner Delk won the boys 1,600 meter run in 5:19.08, and Arcanum’s Jacob Osswald finished fourth in 6:13.57.

Ansonia’s team of Stefani Garrett, Lydia Sink, Bailey Stammen and Aliya Barga won the girls 4×100 meter relay in 54.57. Arcanum’s Kelsey Hamlin, Cheyenne White, Sasha Derringer and Niveka Gregg finished third in 1:03.09.

Ansonia’s squad of Brett Campbell, Devyn Sink, Michael Schaar and Max Wardrip finished third in the boys 4×100 meter relay in 48.90. Arcanum’s Justin Troutwine, Milo Simpson, Wiley Knepshield and Daniel Dendler finished fourth in 55.34.

Arcanum’s Marcy Bradshaw finished third in the girls 400 meter dash in 1:08.39.

Arcanum’s Daniel Coats finished second in the boys 400 meter dash with a time of 56.65, and Ansonia’s Brett Campbell finished fifth in 1:00.15.

Ansonia’s Bailey Stammen won the girls 300 meter hurdles in a time of 56.45, Arcanum’s Trinity Layman finished fourth in 59.37, and Arcanum’s Isabella Whiting finished fifth in 59.94.

Arcanum’s Austin Gibboney won the boys 300 meter hurdles in 45.83, Ansonia’s Matthew Shook finished fourth in 50.23, and Ansonia’s Ryan Willoughby finished fifth in 50.55

Ansonia’s Aliya Barga finished third in the girls 800 meter run in 2:46.52 while Arcanum’s Mara Wetzel finished fifth in 2:58.75.

Arcanum’s Justin Vanatta finished third in the boys 800 meter run with a time of 2:31.67, and Ansonia’s Logan Warner finished fifth in 2:42.12.

Ansonia’s Lydia Sink won the girls 200 meter dash in 28.01, Ansonia’s Stefani Garrett finished fourth in 30.12, and Ansonia’s Emily Bennett finished fifth in 32.62.

Ansonia’s Austin Alexander won the boys 200 meter dash with a time of 24.53 while Arcanum’s Daniel Coats finished third in 25.96.

Arcanum’s Claire Meyer finished fourth in the girls 3,200 meter run in a time of 15:22.00.

Arcanum’s Isaac Stephens won the boys 3,200 meter run with a time of 11:14.17, Arcanum’s Ethan Moores finished fourth in 14:54.00, and Ansonia’s Daniel Shaner finished fifth in 15:07.00.

Ansonia’s quartet of Katie Werts, Amber Bergman, Skyler Marker and Aliya Barga finished second in the girls 4×400 meter relay in 4:50.33 while Arcanum’s Mara Wetzel, Madison Goubeaux, Trinity Layman and Alexis Kreusch finished fourth in 5:02.51.

Ansonia’s Logan Warner, Brett Campbell, Trevor Alexander and Matthew Shook finished second in the boys 4×400 meter relay in 4:09.22. Arcanum’s Justin Vanatta, Dylan Burns, Tanner Delk and Jacob Osswald finished third in 4:10.92.
