Mississinawa Valley baseball team defeats Bradford

BRADFORD – Mississinawa Valley beat Bradford 5-4 in a Cross County Conference baseball game on Thursday.

Mississinawa Valley struck first with a single run in both the first and second innings. After Bradford took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the third, MV regained the lead with three runs in the fourth to make it 5-3. Bradford scored the game’s final run in the fifth inning.

Bradford had eight hits and three errors in the game. Mississinawa Valley had seven hits and no errors.

For Mississinawa Valley Trent Collins was 1-for-3 and scored two runs. Colyn Nelson went 1-for-3 and scored a run while Levi Livingston and Devan Rinderle both went 1-for-4 and scored a run.

Ethan Bowman and Tyler Jenkinson both went 1-for-3 for MV, and Andrew Johns went 1-for-4. Kyler Guillozet drove in a run.

For Bradford Andy Branson was 3-for-4, drove in two runs and scored a run. Mason Justice went 2-for-4 and drove in a run. Wade Gerlach was 1-for-4 and had a RBI. Bryant Byers and Dylan Cassel both were 1-for-3. Walker Branson and Parker Smith both walked and scored a run, and Clay Layman also scored a run.

Collins earned the win for MV as he pitched three innings and allowed three earned runs on four hits, one walk and six strikeouts. Jenkinson pitched four innings and allowed one earned run on four hits, one walk and three strikeouts.

Justice pitched the complete game for Bradford, allowing one earned run and four unearned runs on seven hits, two walks and eight strikeouts.
