Angel Run slated for Sunday

NORTH STAR — The Angel Run 5K Run will be at 9 a.m. Sunday with prizes to be awarded at the end of the race during the North Star Fireman’s and American Legion Picnic.

The 19th annual event starts and finishes at North Star Park east of town. Race day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. There will also be a Fun Run for children beginning at 8:45 a.m.

The run itself starts at 9 a.m.

Pre-entry fees and day of race entry fees (in parentheses) are: All ages with shirt, $16 ($20) all ages with shirt — limited supply; all ages 15 to 64 without shirt, $9 ($12); ages 14 and under/65 and older without shirt, $5 ($5); Fun Run $1 ($1). And, those wanting to buy a shirt but not participate in race, $11.

Plaques will be awarded for the top three males and females overall and medals for the top three in each age category. Categories are: 10 and under, ages 11-14, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 and older.

The curse is a flat, scenic one with times each mile and water stops down and back.

It will feature electronic chip monitoring. More information and the map can be found on the website.

May door prizes will be awarded, and winners have to be present.

Proceeds will go to a $750 Angel Run Scholarship, North Star Fire Department and North Star American Legion.
