ROCKFORD – The Versailles boys golf team started off Midwest Athletic Conference play with a 170-182 victory against Parkway on Thursday at Deerfield Golf Course.
Versailles’ Connor VanSkyock led all golfers with a nine-hole round of 40. Also for the Tigers, Nicholas Litten-Stonebraker shot a 41, Kyle Cotner shot a 44, Alex Groff shot a 45, Preston Platfoot shot a 47, and Isaac Ruhenkamp shot a 47.
Mason Baxter led Parkway with a round of 43. Also for the Panthers, Cole Schoenleben shot a 44, Ashton Humrick shot a 45, Clayton Agler shot a 50, Jack Wehe shot a 50, and Hunter Gause shot a 53.
Versailles improved to 1-0 overall and in the MAC with the win.
Versailles’ junior varsity also beat Parkway at Deerfield, winning 197-249.
Kyle Dapore led Versailles’ reserves with a round of 46. Also for the Tigers, Austin Pleiman shot a 48, Will Eversole shot a 50, Alec Ahrens shot a 51, Alex Keiser shot a 52, Ethan Kremer shot a 59, and Brayden Robinson shot a 75.
Duncan Morton led Parkway’s junior varsity with a 57, Alex Altenbach shot a 52, Jared Gibson shot a 65, Andy Metz shot a 65, and Trevor Barker shot a 76.
One day earlier Versailles’ junior varsity team lost 202-210 to Troy at Stillwater Valley Golf Club.
Austin Pleiman led Versailles’ junior varsity with a nine-hole round of 39. Also for the Tigers, Ethan Kremer shot a 52, Will Eversole shot a 53, Kyle Dapore shot a 56, Alex Keiser shot a 56, and Brayden Robinson shot a 67.
