ST. PARIS – The Arcanum baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader at Graham on Saturday.
Arcanum lost the first game 5-4.
After Arcanum took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, Graham scored one run in both the first and second innings to tie the game. Graham went up 4-2 in the fourth inning, and Arcanum tied it in the top of the seventh. Graham scored the game-winning run in the bottom off the seventh.
Arcanum had eight hits and two errors in the game while Graham had 10 hits and no errors.
Wade Meeks was 2-for-5 for Arcanum, and Cole Spitler was 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Mitch Wogoman was charged with the loss.
Arcanum lost the second game of the doubleheader 17-8.
Arcanum took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first before Graham went up 3-2 in the bottom half of the inning. After Arcanum tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the second, Graham scored three runs in the bottom half of the inning to lead 6-3.
Arcanum regained the lead, 8-6, with five runs in the top of the third. But Graham scored three runs in the bottom half of the inning to go up 9-8 and then added six runs in the fourth and two in the sixth to win 17-8.
Arcanum had nine hits and six errors in the second game, and Graham had 13 hits and four errors.
Meeks went 2-for-4 in game two. Layne Byrne was 2-for-3 with a RBI. Ben Sease was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI.
Steve Vanatta was charged with the loss for Arcanum.
