Mississinawa Valley softball team loses 7-6 at Lehman Catholic

SIDNEY – The Mississinawa Valley softball team recorded 15 hits but lost 7-6 at Lehman Catholic on Monday.

Mississinawa Valley scored three runs in the top of the first to take an early lead. Lehman scored two runs in the bottom of the first then MV scored two in the top of the fifth to make it 5-2 in favor of the Blackhawks. Lehman then scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 7-5 lead. Mississinawa scored one run in the seventh but lost 7-6.

Mississinawa Valley out-hit Lehman Catholic 15 to 10 in Monday’s game.

Lindsay Johns went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and three runs for Mississinawa Valley. Jolie Elson was 3-for-4 with a stolen base and three RBI. Makayla Coning was 2-for-3 with a double, was hit by a pitch, stole a base, scored a run and drove in a run. Kinsie Blocher was 2-for-3, walked once, scored a run and drove in a run.

Amanda Jeffers was 2-for-2 for MV. Bailey Johnson was 2-for-4 with a double and stole a base. Lupe Arrona was 1-for-2, was hit by two pitches and drove in a run. Paxton Scholl was hit by a pitch, stole a base and scored a run.

Scholl pitched the complete game for Mississinawa Valley and allowed seven runs on 10 hits, six walks and five strikeouts.
