WEST ALEXANDRIA – The Ansonia baseball team lost 6-5 in a Cross County Conference game on Tuesday at Twin Valley South.
Twin Valley South took a 2-0 lead in the second inning then both teams scored one run in the fourth to make it 3-1. Ansonia tied the game with two runs in the fifth inning and went up 5-3 with two runs in the sixth inning. South scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to win 6-5.
Ansonia had five hits and one error. Twin Valley South had 10 hits and three errors.
Lane Clark was 1-for-4 with a home run, a run and two RBI. Trevor Beam was 1-for-3 with a double and a RBI. Caleb Jones was 1-for-3 with a RBI.
Ethan Fischer was 1-for-3, walked, stole a base and scored a run. Rygh Fortkamp was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run. Tyler Neal walked, was hit by a pitch and scored a run. Keith Burk also scored a run.
Burk pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing three earned runs and three unearned runs on 10 hits and one walk. Kane Kimmel pitched 1/3 of an inning in relief and retired the only batter he faced.
