Bradford baseball team loses to Jackson Center

BRADFORD – Jackson Center scored three runs in the seventh inning Friday night to defeat the Bradford baseball team 6-5.

Jackson Center scored the game’s first three runs in the first inning. Bradford then scored one in the third, one in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth to go up 5-3. But after five scoreless innings, Jackson Center got its offense going in the seventh to win by one run.

Bradford had eight hits and three errors. Jackson Center had eight hits and two errors.

Alex Swabb went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a stolen base, a RBI and a run for Bradford. Parker Smith was 2-for-4 with a double, two stolen bases and a run. Walker Branson was 2-for-3 with a double, a RBI and a run. Mason Justice was 1-for-4 with a double, a RBI and a run. Bryson Canan walked, was hit by a pitch and drove in a run. Jeff Wolf drove in a run, and Fischer Spencer scored a run.

Wolf was the losing pitcher, allowing three earned runs on two hits and two walks in 1 1/3 innings. Justice pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing one earned run and two unearned runs on six hits, two walks, one hit batter and four strikeouts.
