Jonathan Taylor, Earnie Woodard earn victories during Eldora Speedway’s Fireworks Night

ROSSBURG – The DIRTcar UMP Modifieds and Stock Cars raced Saturday night at Eldora Speedway, which hosted its Fireworks Night at the track.

The Stock Cars started off the action with three heat races lasting eight laps each then a 15-lap A-main.

Winning heat race No. 1 was the 410 of Paul Pardo, in second was the J2 of Rob Trent, third was the 17C of Jeremy Creech, fourth was the 11-T of J Smith, and in fifth was the 99 of Andy King.

The 01 of Earnie Woodard won heat two followed by the 55 of Brandon Archey in second, then the 99J of Donnie Jeschke, the 95 of Gary Rahe Jr. and the 17H of Red Harvey Jr rounded out the top five spots.

In heat three taking home the black and white checkered was the 27 of Frank Paladino, in second was the 87 of Andy Welch, third was the 5W of Craig Swartz, fourth was the 5G of Anthony Goode, and in fifth was the 23 of Casey Barr.

In the A Main finishing first was the 01 of Earnie Woodard, in second was the 410 of Paul Pardo, third was the 99J of Donnie Jeschke, fourth was the 17C of Jeremy Creech, and fifth was the 95 of Gary Rahe Jr.

The stock car pay out for the night was $1,000. Woodard started out in eighth but soon pulled out to first to take the race. It was Woodard’s second win of the season.

Next came the Dirtcar UMP Modified, which also had three heat races and the A-main. The heat races lasted 15 laps while the A-main went 20 laps.

The top five in heat one was the 5X of Tim Richardson in first then the. 7 of Evan Taylor in second, third was the 09D of Joel Dick, fourth was the 36 of Brandon Vaughan, and fifth was the 1J of Josh Morton.

Finishing first for heat two was the 33 of Jordan Conover, second was the 4L of Mike Learman, third was the 3W of Dylan Woodling, fourth was the.3G of Brian Gray, and fifth was the 1W of Scott Williams

Then in round three taking home the first five spots was the 5 of Jonathan Taylor, second was the 95J of Jerry Bowersock, third was the 18 of Ryan Sutter, fourth was the 13 of Andy Galgoci, and fifth was the 25 of Nick Bowers.

Taking home the black and white checkered for the A-main was the 5 of Jonathan Taylor, second was the 3W of Dylan Woodling, third was the 7 of Evan Taylor, fourth was the 95J of Jerry Bowersock, and fifth was the 01 of Earnie Woodard.

Jonathan Taylor raced against his brother for the last lap until Woodling passed Evan Taylor and almost passed Jonathan Taylor. They came neck to neck on the last lap but the two almost made contact. Jonathan Taylor beat Woodling, putting his fifth win in the books.

Eldora Speedway hosted its Fireworks Night on Saturday.
