GREENVILLE – Spartech, LLC is closing a facility in New Jersey and moving the bulk of its warehousing to its existing location at Jaysville Road in Greenville.

Representatives of Spartech met with employees of the Hackensack, New Jersey facility on Tuesday to inform them that the Hackensack operations will be relocating to other existing locations.

This move is intended to streamline operations and better serve customers by integrating key operations into other existing acrylic manufacturing facilities, Spartech officials said. This change helps Spartech leverage expertise in Stamford, Connecticut and Goodyear, Arizona where secondary operations will be expanded to more efficiently deliver value to its customers, officials said.

Detailed transition plans are in place and expected to be completed by year-end. Spartech has other facilities, several within one hour of the Hackensack facility, and employees will be given an opportunity to be considered for open positions at other Spartech facilities. Employees will be eligible for transition assistance if they are unable to transfer to another facility.

Spartech is a leading film, sheet and thermoforming manufacturer in North America. In September 2018, Plastics News published its annual ranking of North American film and sheet manufacturers. Spartech ranked in the top 25 of the total 171 organizations ranked in North America.
