Driver injured in accident in Greenville

GREENVILLE – A driver was injured Tuesday afternoon after going off the side of the road and hitting an utility pole.

At approximately 2:45 p.m., emergency personnel from Greenville City Fire Department and Greenville Township Rescue along with officers from the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to the 200 block of North Broadway in regards to an injury accident.

According to the Greenville Police Department, a red Chrysler PT Cruiser was northbound on North Broadway when the driver veered off the right side of the roadway and made contact with a utility pole before spinning the vehicle and coming to rest in the middle of the roadway.

The female driver of the vehicle was treated on the scene by Greenville Township Rescue before being transported to Wayne HealthCare for her injuries. The female passenger of the vehicle was examined on the scene but refused transport.

The accident will remain under investigation by the Greenville City Police Department.
