UNION CITY, OH — The Mississinawa Valley MVCTC FFA chapter would like to congratulate Braeden Wisner for being the top scoring student for the Junior High Poultry Contest.

This student’s scores placed the chapter ninth in the state. On March 29, Braeden participated in the online Poultry Contest. He had to select live meat-type chickens for broiler breeding, evaluate and place live egg-type hens, and rate the finished product by evaluating and grading ready-to-cook carcasses and parts of chickens and turkeys. Congratulations Braeden!

In addition, the chapter would also like to congratulate Taylor Stacher, Lilly Severance, Aron Hunt, and Brandon Miller for being the top scoring students for the Agronomy Contest. These students’ scores placed the chapter fifth in the state. On March 22, students from the chapter participated in the online Agronomy Contest. The students that participated were asked multiple questions dealing with insects, larvae, seeds, plants, and diseases. They were also given an agronomic scenario where they had to perform calculations to determine a crop management plan.

Many students took hours of time studying and preparing for this contest and their hard work paid off. Congratulations Agronomy Team!
