Greenville wrestling competes at Eaton Invite

EATON — The Green Wave wrestling team finished tied for 17th at the 52nd Eaton Sam Ridder Invitational on Jan. 27-28. There was 22 teams at the event.

Sophomore Andrew Winner finished second in the 285 class. He lost to Jeffery Blair from Chaminade-Julianne in the first place match.

Four Greenville wrestlers made it to the consolation quarterfinals. Freshmen Jack Suter lost 6-1 in the 106 class match and Avery Meade was pinned in the 113 class match. Sophomore William Bush lost in the 138 class match 10-1 while senior Peyton McCartney was pinned in the 157 class match.

Greenville will have a tri-meet on Feb. 1 at Sidney against the Yellow Jackets and Covington at 6 p.m.
